Here is a high-level view of my position. I will elaborate and defend with evidence further based on CON's response.
1. School security can be expensive. Teachers who are armed can drastically reduce security costs.
2. Armed teachers are a known deterrent.
3. Addressing shooters immediately with armed resistance reduces carnage, often resulting in suicide by the attacker.
4,. Arming teachers is not an all or nothing concept. Local districts will have the final say.
5. Speed to respond is greatly increased. Active shooter incidents last about 5 minutes, and police response can be up to 18 minutes.
6. A safer environment leads to better pedagogical outcomes.
That is the basis of my position, for which I reserve the right to add to and qualify on request.
I look forward to CON's basic position.

This is correct. If both people forfeit a round consecutively, the debate generally ends (special rules apply for 4-way debates etc.)
Although I tend to take @JackSprat's approach myself.Posted 2020-04-27 17:38:48
It's automatic Just let the timer run out on your turn without posting. If the site sees two of those in a row, (ie, one from one side followed immediately by one from the other side), it'll stop the debate early and take it directly to judging. @admin ?Posted 2020-04-27 07:41:06
The only option it gives me is to concedePosted 2020-04-27 00:36:57
Hey jack, not sure if you knew this but on Edeb8, if there are two consecutive forfeits in a row, the debate just ends early.
Best form is generally to give one “arguments extended” chance for your opponent, but if they don’t come back after that, just forfeit your next round and send it to judging.
Obviously you’re entitled to do whatever you like, but since you seem to be doing a few debates here, I thought I’d point it out in case you didn’t know! Posted 2020-04-26 23:12:01
