Logical fallacies!
Try not to make logical fallacies within your debate. Try to spot your opponent's logical fallacies. His or her argument might be going in the wrong direction, his source may talk about the wrong topic....Keep a cool head as you read and examine your opponent's arguments and see if there are any fallacies that he or she committed. A list of common fallacies and their explanations can be found here:
http://yourlogicalfallacyis.com/. A few others aren't listed there that are crucial too, such as Red Herring, or Reducio ad hitlerum. Fallacies can be mistaken arguments, but beware--not all fallacies means your opponent is incorrect or made an error, as noted in the Fallacy Fallacy! However, spotting fallacies can still nevertheless strengthen your arguments and make you gain the upper-hand.

I highly disagree with your statement that fallacies can be used as arguments. If it is a fallacy than it is a fallacy.
I don't think it is wise to encourage people to make fallacious arguments under the pretense that they wont be spotted.

I totally agree with Csa, I don't think it is a good idea to encourage fallacies. It's encouraging less then the best.
