I was kinda curious I've seen a few places already on the site where people can ask for a coach but I haven't seen a place to sign up to be a coach. Am I just blind or do I just not understand how that works or what?

You don't sign up to be one, you make an offer to people who are interested in having one. This would all be clearer if there was somebody looking for coaching right now- you'd see an "apply" link beneath the coach.
How would people feel if I added a link to the profiles of anyone without a coach to "offer to coach this debater"?

Honestly, I feel like it would be a lot smoother if those looking for coaching had a place to pull on who they wanted to coach. At least on a personal level I know that if I was going to have someone teach me something, I'd want to be able to pick who taught me and not just get slapped with someone.
If the system makes more sense to you that way the link would definitely help.

Maybe I didn't explain it well. The process is this:
User A looks for a coach with a post
Users B and C apply to coach user A
When User A has found somebody they're interested in, they pick them to be their coach
So yeah, I was definitely trying to avoid the "being stuck with a coach" syndrome when I designed it.

I have a coach! Yay me!
Please excuse me as I'm not super creative when it comes to forum signatures.
