New EDEB8 Ideas

I thought that a thread for new ideas would be useful. Post any ideas you have here.

Nerd Politico: Search Bar
Tournament creation integration, where a person can create a bracket, sign-ups, etc.
Annotation votes, where a user can, instead of just having one large comment, can click to specific parts of the debate and leave comments on each highlighted part, so as to point out exactly what the voter's progression of thought is.

Long-term to create a resource guide

Downloadable PDFs for the debates, or in site annotation integration.

Nerd Politico: The ability to just post in a thread without having to reply.

Nerd Politico: Sample RFDs on famous debates, like the lincoln/douglas, presidential debates, etc.

Nerd Politico: My only true objection at this point is the baby-poop color theme.

Charcoal and Red is great.

Dark Olive Green and Light Grey is another one.

This bright sage-green and white...burns the retinas.

Nerd Politico: Believe it or not, "Tournament creation integration" already exists, I just want there to be a few more debates before I open up that part of the site. Site's only been going for a day so it seems a bit early for a tournament.

Annotation votes - little bit harder, but I've put it on my super-long term plans.

Nerd Politico: Downloadable PDFs is such a good idea it's on my medium-term plans, as is "favoriting" debates.

Debates in progress - yeah, there should probably be a box on the home page for this.

Nerd Politico: Is that ... um, problematic for other people? If so it could be added but it doesn't seem that important.

Nerd Politico: That should be definitely going on to the resources section of the blog.

Heineken: I'll try one of these out when we switch logos.

admin: I mean, it's not ultra important, but it just feels... weird. I don't know.

Nerd Politico: I'd like to be able to see my friends list.

Nerd Politico: Settings -> users

Nerd Politico: There needs to be a way I can view debates in the debating period.

Nerd Politico: Debates should show how many views it has and have a "like" button for the debate.

admin: I'd like to be able to pull up previous chats.

xXCryptoXx: Added view counts. I wasn't counting views before this so all existing debates will start at zero views starting now.

Nerd Politico: Where should these be put?

admin: I'd recommend putting them as an additional tab with the messages.
